Es Castell is situated on the south side of the port of Mahon, just 5 miles from Mahon airport, and is the most easterly town in Minorca. Es Castell can be reached by boat from the city of Mahon. Es Castell has two picturesque little coves on the edge of the town, Calas Fons and Calas Corb, with the little island of Illa del Llatzeret just offshore. The town itself is quaint with a mixture of craft shops, bars and restaurants and outdoor markets are held frequently. A number of yachts are moored along the quay. The Georgian buildings around the town square are reminders of Minorca’s British colonial past. Nearby beaches are to be found at Es Grau, Punta Prima and Cala Padera, while the town itself offers a variety of water sports including sailing, wind surfing, and diving.
